Umpire Clinics 2008

The Jr. Development Umpire Clinic has two functions.  It is the breaking ground where umpires first start out, and it serves as a refresher course for umpires that are under 19. By participating in the one-day course, the umpires gain insight, education and training with their peers. The course is fully cost recoverable for OAFA umpires (after 10 games).  By taking the clinic the umpires are insured. 

 Please note the following:

• All persons under the age of 19 must take (in the current year) the Jr. Development Umpire Clinic to become insured and to be eligible to umpire House League, Select or Rep games in the OAFA.
• All persons 19 and over that have had previous training must become insured (in the current year) to be eligible to umpire House League, Select or Rep games in the OAFA.  Volunteer umpires for Blastball and Atom are covered by OASA insurance that the OAFA purchases on your behalf.
• All persons must have purchased umpire insurance (in the current year) and be a level 1 certified umpire to be eligible to umpire in OASA or PWSA Rep games.

 

CLINIC DATES:

Bring a lunch, running shoes, paper & pen.

$40 cost.  OAFA umps that umpire 10 games in Orleans will be reimbursed.

2.  Jr. Development (15-18 yr olds):  April 26, 2008 @ RA CENTRE @ 9:00am - 3:00pm

Bring a lunch, running shoes, paper & pen.

$50 cost.  OAFA umps that umpire 10 games in Orleans will be reimbursed.

3.  Junior On-Field Mechanics Practice:  Sat. May 10th @ Pierre Rocque Park @ 3:00pm–4:00PM
