Umpire's BLUE Page

The Board of Directors has appointed Dick Coleman as the Umpire-in-Chief for the Orleans Amateur Fastball Association. For the past 5 years he was the fast pitch Umpire-in-Chief for Zone 10.

What personal qualities are required to be a good umpire? Umpires are required to be fair, decisive, a good communicator, consistent, calm, confident, possess a good knowledge of the rules and be willing to work as a part of a team.
If you feel you possess any or all of these skills, have you considered umpiring? If you wish to develop some of these skills, have you considered umpiring?
The Orleans Amateur Fastball Association is always looking for umpires – both teens and adults. Experience is not necessary. Clinics will be provided to help you get started. If you believe that fastball should be played fairly and you are interested in being a part of this game why not give Dick a call and talk about it. He can be reached at 824-3019.
